Nag, Mahesh Babu drive crowds ecstatic

The Nandi awards function at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Sunday evening drew an enthusiastic response from the crowd, especially at the sight of super star Krishna and his son Mahesh Babu.

The crowds were equally ecstatic whenever actor Nagarjuna’s name was mentioned.

Even when Krishna, Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna were shown on the two LCD screens on either side of the huge dais, there was tremendous response.

Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna sat next to each other and were seen in conversation on a few occasions. Fans of Krishna and Mahesh Babu turned up at the venue in large numbers from different parts of the State. They were mobilised by the Krishna-Mahesh Babu Sena, a fans association. Mimicry and comedy kept the spirits of the crowd high before the commencement of the awards presentation ceremony.

Slight drizzle

A slight drizzle during the period sent the crowd scurrying for cover but they came back to watch the proceedings till the end. The crowd also stood up holding chairs over their heads for a few minutes when it drizzled.

The colourful dais with the glimmer of lights of different shades sparkled to music, dances, songs and comedy for nearly two hours until the arrival of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

A decorative background to the platform completed the filmi ambience.

A special glee from the crowd was reserved for mimicry artists Nagabhushanam and Komali sisters during their performances. - (Hindu)
