NTR jr set to cause traffic jams in Andhra soon
After a host of Tollywood stars hitting the roads with vengeance, NTR jr is all set to join the bandwagon next month to boost the prospects of TDP.
He is considered to be one of the star campaigners for the opposition party and is expected to lure young voters. "He will be returning to Hyderabad on the 27th and his tour programme will be fixed thereafter," says a source close to him.
Interestingly, he shares one thing in common with other stars like Pawan Kalyan and Balakrishna. Don't let your imaginations run wild.

Comedy hero Sunil On A High

UTV & RGV join hands for AGYAAT-THE UNKNOWN
UTV after the stupendous success of its slate of films in 2008, today announced joining hands with Dreamforce Enterprise a division of Ram Gopal Varma film factory ltd. Jointly UTV and Dreamforce Enterprise will co produce the film titled as AGYAAT-THE UNKNOWN. The movie’s plot revolves around a film unit on a shoot in a remote jungle in Sri Lanka. The film will be shot in Ramu’s characteristic style on frightening locations complete with spine chilling sound effects and stylish yet eerie imagery.

Trisha Jumping And Shouting For AR Rahmans Oscar Moment
Trisha ’s life as her biggest icon AR Rahman has won two Oscars. Talking about Rahman, the actress is all smiles and speaks from the location of her Telugu film in Hyderabad.Trisha told: “I am not just another fan, but a crazy fan of Rahman. You won’t believe that sitting alone in my hotel room in Hyderabad, I was watching the Oscars from early morning and I started screaming, jumping and shouting when Rahman won the Oscar, that the hotel staff came and told me that I had to bring down the TV volume as guests were sleeping in adjecent rooms. It was truly embarrassing though I didn’t really care”.

The world and India celebrated when music composer-director A R Rahman won two Oscars on Monday, but Tollywood could not drag itself into the celebrations. The reason: the sensible music director has so far steered clear of Telugu cinema. So Tollywood too did not quite embrace him.
In the 17 years that he has been a music director, Rahman consciously and deliberately chose not to work for Telugu films. He did not openly or blatantly declare his dislike for Telugu films, but Rahman showed it by avoiding them.
So on a day when Rahman was on top of the world, hardly anyone in the Telugu film industry showed an enthusiasm to celebrate or even display their happiness. The only exception was an emotional music director Koti who declared his love for Rahman on television. Rahman had worked for Koti before the former himself became one.
Rahman had in fact rendered music for only four Telugu films, all movies failed to impress Tollywood audience. Whether it was due to that strange experience or simply a matter of sensibilities that did not match, Rahman never worked on Telugu films thereafter.
Telugu film audiences know Rahman from the films that have been dubbed from Tamil into Telugu and were major hits. These included films like his debut film ‘Roja’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Jeans’, ‘Gentleman’, ‘Boys’, and ‘Sivaji’.
The four direct films that he did in Telugu were Gang Master, Palnati Pourusham, Venkatesh and Nagma-starrer ‘Super Police’ in 1993 and Mahesh Babu and Amisha Patel-starrer ‘Naani’ in 2004. It is said S J Suryah, who directed ‘Naani’ has once again roped in Rahman to compose music for his under-production film ‘Komaram Puli’ starring Pawan Kalyan.
“Rahman has hardly done any Telugu films because he is choosy about the directors he works for. The directors should not only have a music sense but should be able to understand his music and its relevance for the film,” a producer in the Telugu film industry said. Overtures by cash-rich Telugu producers and directors to rope in Rahman were politely but firmly declined, on the pretext that he had prior commitments and could not give the right dates.

Maybe this man’s experience as a judge on a musicbased reality show has made him this way, but we think he has a great future as an actor of melodramatic TV soaps.

Praja Rajyam Party seems to be going crazy in making promises to the people, since it does not have anything new to convince them.
PRP youth wing president Pavan Kalyan says if Praja Rajyam comes to power, it would provide “permanent unemployment allowance” (saswata nirudyoga bhruthi) to youth, unlike the other parties which are promising unemployment allowance only up to a certain age limit.
Though Pavan Kalyan did not specify how and how much the PRP would pay for the unemployed, one wonders whether it would not amount to spoon feeding of the youth. How can any government pay such allowance life long? Does it not discourage youth from trying for jobs hard? Be practical man!

After the blockbuster hit Arundathi, Anushka who is now the topnotch heroine in telugu film industry, is getting ready to act with Mahesh Babu in his next film Varudu. She will be actually replacing Parvathi Melton who was first booked as the heroine for Varudu.

A youth entertainer ‘Original’ featuring Varun and Bhavani as lead pair has successfully completed the picturisation of songs. Vikas Vadhiraj is directing this flick and Venkata Reddy is producing it under Trinetra Productions banner. The makers are now planning for the audio launch on February 27 and the film’s release on March 2nd. Sri Koti has composed the musical score. Director of film Vikas Vadhiraj informed that “A new angle of love will be shown in Original”.

Vishal’s ‘Pista’ to release on 12th April
The dark hunk of tinsel town, Vishal shot to fame with ‘Pandem Kodi, ‘Pogaru’, ‘Bharani’ and ‘Salute’ which were all made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. After a forgettable flick like ‘Salute’, he’s now determined to rework with vigor and give a hit this time. ‘Pista’ will be the upcoming big budget film starring Vishal and Shriya Saran. Vikram Krishna produces the film on Vishal’s home production GK Films Corporation. Debutant director Ayyapan is making the film as an action packed entertainer for Vishal fans. A sincere blogger Vishal has also started a blog of his own and has been ardently keeping in touch with his fans. He got committed for a project with director Selvaraghavan of ‘7G Brindhavan Colony’ but later dropped out of it. Now, a new film has been announced in Tamil titled ‘Theeratha Vilayatu Pillai’ (Casanova) which might be made into Telugu simultaneously but is yet to be confirmed. ‘Pista’ (‘Thoranai’ in Tamil) is fast shaping up with the regular shooting schedules and is planned for a release on April 12th in both Telugu and Tamil.

Court lifts ban on Salman’s Veer
Rajasthan High Court on Thursday permited thye shooting of Salman Khan starrer Veer at Amber Fort.
Last week, the shooting of this period film was stalled after 15 people including two camera persons were injured when a portion of 20-foot long wall at the historic Amber Fort collapsed during the shooting of the film.
The court has allowed the shoot for four days but the film’s producer will have to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh.
The shooting of Veer, which is directed by Anil Sharma, was earlier mired in controversy with one Rajendra Singh challenging it on the grounds that it was violative of the Monument Protection Act.
The Amber Fort Authority later cleared the decks after the filmmakers assured them of taking all precautions to ensure that no damage was caused to the fort during the shooting.(NDTV)

Anushka in Shyam's - Aghora
Recently Shyam Prasad Reddy made flick 'Arundhathi' in which Sonu Sood starred as Aghora. This role clicked a lot and brought in big money. Now Shyam is planning to make a flick with main role of 'Aghora'. Producer D.Siva Prasad Reddy has bought the rights of the Akshay Kumar starrer Namastey London for whopping Rs. 80 lacs. The film will be made in Telugu and will have Nagarjuna in the lead role. The heroine and the director are yet to be finalized. Siva Prasad Reddy is a long time producer of Nagarjuna and has done numerous films with him. Their last film was King which had a good run at the box office. Namastey London was a light entertainer and was declared a hit in Bollywood. The role in all probability is tailor-made for Nagarjuna and a lot would depend on the selection of the heroine. But Siva Prasad Reddy is a producer who is known to have the financial stamina to run the last mile. Here is hoping that Siva Prasad Reddy and Nagarjuna get to recreate that magic in Tollywood too

The latest version of 'Maro Charithra' will be produced by 'Dil' Raju, the lucky mascot of Telugu industry.
The black and white film 'Marocharithra' (1979) starring Kamal Haasan and Saritha was directed by veteran director K Balachandar. The story of true love that blossoms between a Tamil boy and a Telugu girl was portrayed so beautifully and touching on screen which made it a big hit in the time. Again, it was remade in Hindi titled 'Ek Duje Keliye' (1981) which was the debut film in Bollywood for Kamal, Rathi Agnihotri (in Saritha's character) and SP Balasubramaniam (Singer). The most famous romantic songs like 'Eh thiga poovunu Ee komma' in Telugu and which is 'Tere Mee Bechume' in Hindi were the biggest classic hits of all time.
The Telugu and Hindi versions of the film ran for complete 365 days in Hyderabad about three decades ago.
For the younger generation, the newer version will be presented in a modernized style starring young actor Varun Sandesh in the lead and directed by Bollywood cinematographer, Ravi Yadav. The movie launch will be held on 19th of this month, at 8 O'clock in the morning at 'Dil' Raju's office premises.

Mahesh’s cameo in Kavya’s Diary?
The film Kavya’s Diary produced by Sanjay Swaroop and directed by VK Prakash is now all set for release shortly. Mahesh Babu’s sister Manjula and the bubbly heroine Charmy are playing lead roles in the film.
Manjula and Charmy are now giving interviews both in the print media as well as the electronic media promoting the film. As a result the film has already generated a lot of buzz and the hype surrounding it has gone up considerably.
The rumour now doing the rounds is that prince Mahesh Babu has done a cameo appearance in the film. There is no confirmation of this yet but it is sure to add further interest in the film.
This may be a marketing gimmick but the fans of prince hope that it is true. In that case Mahesh Babu’s fans can be expected to throng the theaters in large numbers and give Kavya’s Diary some fantastic openings.

Aishwarya took a break from her hectic shooting schedule to go to New York for the promotion of the film. She is still in New york and will return to India shortly and commence work on her two big films in hand.
Aishwarya is acting in Mani Ratnam’s bi-lingual film Ravan (Ashokavanam in Tamil). Aishwarya plays Sita, a carnatic musician in the film. Vikram plays Rama while Abhisekh Bachchan plays Ravana in the film.

Mithrudu Bala Krishna, Priyamani film titled
Shooting of the latest film of Balakrishna with Priyamani in the female lead, directed by Mahadev and produced by Sivaram Prasad, is almost nearing completion. It is reliably learnt that the film unit is considering the titles – Mithrudu or Viswanath – as the title of the film. Most probably, ‘Mitrudu’ would be confirmed as the title, sources in the unit say. Manisharma gave melodious tunes to all the songs and the audio would be released in the first week of March. The producer is making efforts to release the film in the second week of April. The film is coming up as a complete family entertainer.

The ravishing yoga teacher turned actress Anushka made a big splash with her bewitching performance in the film Arundathi. The film is a sensational hit and it is drawing full houses even in its fourth week of its release.
Anushka is now the most sought after actress. She is now acting in the film titled Billa. Prabhas is the hero. The film will portray Anushka in an entirely different role.

Hero Balakrishna, who took some time off from shooting to take part in campaigning for the Telugu Desam has since returned to the sets to resume shooting for his film.
Balakrishna campaigned extensively in Ananatapur and surrounding areas in the last week of January. Balayya conducted road shows and also addressed several rallies. He was given a rousing reception at many places and people lined up in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the actor.

The recently released youth and family entertainer Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam (KIKK) is recieving good response all over abroad, it is said that the movie is an out and out family entertainer with a moral, the movie attracts youth and family audience, the film would touch the hearts of family audience and women, human relations and family bonds are dealt very well in the film etc. All reviews concluded by saying that KIKK is a delightful watch for youth and family audience.

Nayanthara’s ban revoked
Just a couple of days after the Nayanthara’s ban from Tamil cinema came into effect, news has come that an amicable settlement has been reached and that the ban is revoked. The ban had been enforced after an official complaint that had been lodged by Lingusaamy accusing Nayanthara of not sticking to her commitments for the movie Payya despite having been paid the advance amount.
Nayanthara in her defense had said that the dates that she had allotted for the movie had not been utilized by the director which was not her fault and refused to accede to the demands for the return of the advance amount. But after matters took a turn for the ugly, and after the Nadigar Sangam and Producer’s Council decided to enforce a ban, there has been a dialogue where Nayanthara’s side finally agreed to repay the advance. Following this the ban has been revoked with immediate effect and it is now almost sure that there will be no further issues in connection with this issue.

Producer blames Archana
Bank film was recently released. This film had Jackie Shriff, Abbas and Archana doing main leads. The producer of Bank film held press meet yesterday and blamed Abbas and Archana for being unprofessional by refusing to promote the film when it is releasing after so much delay. Producer said that Archana and Abbas also troubled them severely during the shoot of the film.
