Balakrishna New Movie Launch On Oct 9th
NBK's new film with Priyamani as heroine will be launched on October 9th on the eve of Vijayadasami. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad (who earlier did Aditya 369, Vamsanikokkade, Balevadivi Basu with NBK) is producing this film. Mahadev, disciple of SS Rajamouli, is making debut with this film. The producer said: "We selected Priyamani as heroine for Balayya. Vijayendra Prasad is providing the story. Dialogues are by Ratnam. Rama Rajamouli is the costumes designer. Mani Sharma is the music director. The first schedule will commence on the opening day and will continue till October end. A 15-day schedule will take place every month till the completion. I thank Balakrishna for giving me this opportunity." Chandramohan, Brahmanandam, Pradeep Rawat, Tannikella Bharani, Ahuti Prasad, Dharmavarapu and Balayya are among the cast. Art is by Anandsai. Stunts are by Ram-Lakshman.
Pawan Kalyan's Puli To Have Trivikram's Lyric
Box office hit director of films Nuvve Nuvve, Athadu, Jalsa, Trivikram Srinivas has contributed as a writer and Lyricist too. In the film Oka Raju Oka Rani Trivikram has penned two songs in addition with writing the story.
He also has contributed in Venaktesh's film Chinthakayala Ravi few songs and the latest news is that he has written two songs for Pavan Kalyan's Puli.
Jalsa in the past a box office hit in the combination of Pavan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas.
S J Surya is hopeful that these songs will be also a hit.

Namitha strikes back at size reports
Recently few websites published Namtihta’s sizes as 40-32-38. Namitha reacted angrily at these rumors. “I look hot in larger sizes. I prefer bigger sizes to small ones. In a major relief for Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, the row over his newly-launched party’s name ‘Praja Rajyam’ was resolved Friday after the advocate who had staked claim to the name agreed to withdraw his application.
Chenna Krishnaiah, an advocate of Kadpa district, met the Election Commission of India officials in New Delhi and agreed to withdraw his application for registration of ‘Praja Rajyam’ made a month ago.
Chiranjeevi’s aides reportedly succeeded in convincing Krishnaiah to withdraw his application and in return promised a key post in the party, sources said here.
Chiranjeevi Tuesday launched his political party ‘Praja Rajyam’ at a mammoth rally at the temple town of Tirupati. However, his close aides and supporters had to face embarrassment when Krishnaiah claimed Thursday that he had already applied to the Election Commission for registration of a party with the same name.
The actor’s camp swung into action to convince Krishnaiah, who had applied for registration in July and was given a month’s time by the Election Commission to complete the formalities.
Chiranjeevi’s aide Vinay Kumar rushed to Delhi to fulfil the legal formalities for the registration after it was pointed out that their application was riddled with errors and had only 88 signatures instead of the mandatory 100.
Vinay Kumar and two other leaders of Chiranjeevi’s party from Kadpa district met Krishaniah in Delhi and they together called on Election Commission officials. It was during this meeting that Krishnaiah is understood to have withdrawn his application.
Party spokesman P. Mitra told newsmen that it had applied for registration and fulfilled the criteria. "Our legal department is looking into the issue. We are confident the Election Commission will accept our application," he said.

Barbers up against Kuselan Rajinikanth
After distributors and exhibitors, now it is the turn of a body of hairstylists in the state to launch a protest against the Tamil box office dud "Kuselan" and its director P. Vasu.
"Kuselan has cast a slur on the profession of hairstylists by caricaturing some of the characters who solicit business through unfair means - something that is never done in real life. We will picket Vasu’s house Friday to start the protest," K. Natesan, president, Hairstylists Welfare Association said.
Produced by K. Balachandar, the film stars Rajnikant and Pasupathy in lead roles.
"If the offending scenes are not deleted after an apology by the film’s hero, director and others who belittle the profession, we will move the court to get the scenes deleted," Natesan said.
The film revolves around the life of a barber, played by Pasupathy, and his friendship with a movie icon. The main protagonist’s competitor is depicted in "Kuselan" as attracting clients by unfair means.
"Though main distributors of ’Kuselan’ are implying that the movie will be worse than a close shave, now real life barbers are about to add more wounds on an already bleeding face," an exhibitor remarked.
"Kuselan" was sold at Rs.600 million and small distributors and exhibitors have lost 60 percent of their investment so far. After bearing the losses, leading trade bodies have announced non-cooperation notices to its main distributors Pyramid Saimira and producers Kavithalaya and it has endangered a string of major projects worth over Rs.4 billion.

There is a campaign going on with an ample aim to honor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao by his fans association.
All India NTR Fan’s Association launched a campaign seeking Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor of the land, to be bestowed on the legend of Tollywood and Devudu for his masses; who became CM just with in six months of launching a political party Telugu Desam Party, in early 1980’s which is an unparallel achievement all over the world.
Under their agenda of collecting one crore signatures to support the cause, the association started the campaign from the top sections to bottom line up.
During an assembly section N Chandrababu Naidu and other MLA’s of the party signed the registers and after collecting target number of signatures, it will be handed over to the PM.

Blowing hot and cold
Anita has completed almost 80 percent of her debut film in Tamil titled Kulir 100 Degree.It is a cool title and is about how five guys and a girl, all in their teens, spend their lives in a boarding school in a wooded hill station. It is a film for the youth. The average age of my actors is 17 and they are all new faces,” explains Anita Udeep, an engineer-turned-director. She is not new to cinema, having directed an English film titled Knock, Knock, I’m looking to Marry (2003), which was followed by a 3D animation film called Gulliver Travels (2006).
Anita has also sung the hit number Azhagia Asura in the Tamil film Whistle.The pretty writer and director also understands the pulse of today’s youth, as she constantly monitors their likes and dislikes in film viewing. Anita runs the 10-screen Mayajaal multiplex, considered to be one of the most successful multiplexes in India.
Sitting in her posh office and going through the box-office collections on her laptop, Anita says, The time is ripe in Kollywood to make something different within the commercial format. That is why I ventured into making Kulir. Our audience research has shown us that they are willing to try out something unusual. Take a look at the collection figures of a host of new films in Hindi and Tamil that people said would not click. At the end of the day, they have worked big time. It has given me the courage to make my kind of movie.”
Anita’s kind of movie is Kulir 100 Degrees, as the title indicates it’s both cold and hot which means that opposites attract, the basic framework of the film. “The film is a youth-oriented story using their lingo and trying to tell things their way. The guys in my film come from different strata of society. One guy is from a village in Theni, while another is from a posh area of Chennai. The audience can relate to each and every character, giving the film an universal appeal. The film goes through four seasons, and is made like a musical entertainer with comedy, emotions and suspense,” says the lady director.
She has picked a Delhi girl Ria as the heroine while the hero is a Tamilian Sanjiv from Coimbatore, who has done the offbeat Malayalam film Apoorva. There are six songs in the film, the music for which has been composed by Sasi, son of Murali of the famous Sabesh-Murali team. The film is being shot in Super-35 mm, by cameraman Vijay, an assistant of Aravind Krishna. Anita has shot the film in some exotic locations in Switzerland, Kulu, Manali, Yercaud and Ooty on a budget of Rs three crore. Anita adds, “The packaging looks glossy and will attract our target audience — the youth. There is no glamour or skin show in the film. This will be a racy entertainer which will keep the audience engrossed.”

After eating temple prasadam a few days ago, I felt giddy and went to a hospital for a check-up,” she says, “It was a simple case of food poisoning and nothing more to it. I was shocked when I read a newspaper report that I had attempted suicide.”
But she stresses that she has no enemies within the industry who could have planted such a hoax. “I could have settled in Hyderabad or Bangalore (places I love) but chose to stay in Chennai as I felt it was my true home,” she says, “I am still the darling of Tamil Nadu… I want to live life to the fullest and have no intention of leaving the world so soon!”
“I was laughing when I read that report but felt bad when my parents came to know of it,” she adds. “My father is a heart patient and I did not want him disturbed by such baseless rumours.”
The actress rubbishes rumours of a recent love failure. “I am choosy about the movies I do and will be as choosy when it comes to choosing my life partner too. I trust my parents with this decision-making. Meanwhile, I am single and enjoying it!”

Rambha denies rumors of suicide attempt
Rambha attempting suicide traveled thick and fast on Monday as she was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. On Tuesday morning (Aug 27), Rambha denied them and spoke to the media. " I am no coward to end my life," she said.

A filmgoer rented out an entire cinema to disprove a director's claim that his latest horror movie is so scary no one can watch it alone, a newspaper said on Tuesday.
Pavin Ponanna, 30, booked all 227 seats at a Bangalore multiplex for an evening screening of Phoonk.
He asked cinema staff to have a doctor on call, but emerged declaring: "I never felt scared, not even for a moment. I took just 10 minutes to settle down."
Producer-director Ram Gopal Varma had challenged any fan to watch Phoonk - the story of a happy family suddenly beset by the evil forces of black magic - on their own.
Ponanna, an advertising professional, visited a temple to prepare for the experience, adding that the tickets had cost him Rs 47,000.

Thousands of Chiranjeevi fans, who poured in from all over Andhra Pradesh to listen to their star revealing the name and agenda of his party, swamped into the chamber which was alloted for physically challenged people.

Trisha opts out of two Telugu films?
Trisha has just one Telugu film for which she is currently shooting in Hyderabad- Nagarjuna’s King.She was supposed to be signed up for two big projects Venky’s Krishnum Vande Jagadguru to be directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi ( of Gamyam fame) and Ravi Teja’s next film to be directed by Surendar (of Anthanokkade fame).
But the latest buzz is that she has voluntarily opted out of theses two plum projects to accommodate Kamal Hassan’s magnum opus Marmayogi. The reason is that she has to give bulk dates of nearly 200 days for this Kamal film, which will start rolling soon and she will have no time for any other projects.
Before that, Trisha has to complete two projects in Tamil Sarwam and Chennayil Oru Mazhailalam. Her next release will be Radha Mohan directed Abhiyum Njanum.
Sources close to Trisha say that she is upset that, she had to opt out of Venky’s and Ravi Teja’s films to accommodate Marmayogi which will be a lifetime role for the actress. It seems that Trisha has decided to give her best for Marmayogi as it was always her dream to do a film with Kamal, her all time favourite actor.

Chiranjeevi unveils ’Praja Rajyam’
Megastar Chiranjeevi formally launched his political party in the holy shrine of Tirupati amidst huge fanfare and extravaganza. He called his party ‘Praja Rajyam’ and said social justice would be its goal.
"It will be a democratic and secular party. It will be people’s party, born from the hearts of people. It will be a party for backward classes, farmers, workers, women and youth," he said, addressing thousands gathered for the launch in Tirupati.
"The party will work for development, modernisation and industrial revolution. Its goal will be santosh and ananda (contentment and happiness) of Andhra Pradesh," he said amid loud cheers from an estimated million people gathered from across Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi told his fans that he was ‘overwhelmed’ by the support and told the people that he knows what Andhra wants. He called it his ‘duty to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh’.
Broadly outlining the policies of his eagerly awaited party, he said that eliminating poverty, ensuring social equality, rooting out corruption, development of villages on par with urban areas, and providing health and education to all would top the agenda.
Chiru, who declared that he had no rivals in politics, took a swipe at the ruling Congress for selling government land to industries and for acquiring cultivable land for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
“We have no rivals. Problems are our rivals. We have no rivals because we have no fear and greed. We have entered the battlefield but our battle is against problems. Courage and honesty are our two weapons. We have no leader. All are soldiers. I am also one among you,” he said.
The 53-year-old Megastar and son of a police constable outlined his party’s vision in various sectors and also unveiled the party flag — green and white with the sun in the middle - amidst rapturous applause from the huge gathering.

Double blow for Nayantara!
Nayantara who has struck gold with back to back hits Billa and Yaradi Nee Mohini in Tamil cinema is not so happy now. Her films Kuselan and Sathyam bombed at the box-office and that has put Nayan’s top place in question.

No, I actually think Ravi Teja knew how to balance his body weight so that I could carry him! Actually it was an impromptu shot!
It was during the shooting of Baladoor that a junior artist died in an accident.
It was a traumatic time for the whole crew. During the entire shoot none of us discussed it.
Coming to work, you have three films, Chintakayala Ravi, Souryam and Arundhati, lined up for release. Which is the one you are looking forward to?
I play a dual role in Arundhati and there was good scope for acting, but since the film is yet to be released, I cannot reveal much about the character.
Actresses these days have no hang-ups about skin show, are you ready for a bikini?
I don't mind wearing a bikini if the role I am playing is substantial and the scene adds value to the storyline. If it is just for skin show then I am not ready.

Prabhas is Yugandhar!
Prabhas has finally made up his mind for his next project. After much brainstorming and listening to scripts narrated by various directors in the last four months, Prabhas has, at last, given green signal to the remake of Billa, the Ajith starrer Tamil film, which is nothing but the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don. Prabhas’s home production house Gopikrishna Movies will produce this. Meher Ramesh (of Kantri) will be directing it. It will be Prabhas’s immediate next film and will hit the floors next month, sources informed us.

Venky’s 'Krishnam Vande' From October
Venkatesh who is currently shooting for Chintakayala Ravi will soon join the shooting of director Radhakrishna’s second directorial venture - Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. The movie will begin from October 1st week and will be finished in just three months. That means, Venky will have two releases in very short span of six months.

Chiru affect: No room for pilgrims in Tirupati!
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s formal political debut at the mega public meeting here on August 26 has created accommodation scarcity in the temple town.
Not fewer than 60,000 pilgrims from different parts of the country and even abroad turn up every day in Tirupati on pilgrimage to Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Hotels and lodges, and other commercial establishments in the town thrive mainly on the patronage of the pilgrims.
It has become particularly hard to find accommodation in Tirumala and at Tirumala during festivals and during consecutive holidays, and even during some weekends.
Tirupati being an educational hub and spiritual centre, the town witnesses a steady stream of scientists and scholars round the year. That being the situation in the normal days, it has now become harder in the past one week for pilgrims, the newlyweds and their relatives in particular, to find accommodation in any hotel or lodge thanks to the maiden public meeting on August 26 by politician Chiranjeevi.
Organisers at the Chiru camp have booked all available rooms in every lodge and hotel in Tirupati and its surroundings. Even the kalayanamandapams – TTD and private – have been booked in advance to accommodate the guests coming to attend the meeting.
"We have booked all available kalayanamandapams in Tirupati for allocation to party supporters," explains N V Prasad, film producer and politician, who is looking after the arrangements for the meeting.
With the meeting being just a couple of days away, preparations are on a fast track. Fans’ associations are busy planning erection of cutouts, posters and welcome arches for putting them at vantage points in the town.
With an estimated 10 lakh people to attend the public meeting, around 1,700 RTC buses are being booked from different places in the State. According to Chiranjeevi’s brotherin- law and advisor Allu Aravind, fans and supporters of Chiranjeevi are forming into groups and engaging special trains to Tirupati from different places in the State. Chiru fans have already booked 15 special trains, hundreds of private buses and 10,000-odd light vehicles to reach Tirupati.
"As per the information we have received at our call centre, which is coordinating the communication, 18 trains have been hired and the figure is likely to go up to 25,"he said.
As for the media arrangements, three coordinators have been appointed to look after, local, state and national mediapersons who will come to cover the event. A request for a full-fledged media centre at the meeting venue has been made to the organisers.
Crackers will be a strict no-no at the maiden public meeting of heroturned- politician Chiranjeevi at Tirupati on August 26. One lakh people are expected to come from Kadapa alone as it is the nearest district. Large numbers are expected from Nellore, which too is close to the temple town. The greatest number, understandably, will be from Chittoor district in which the town is sited.
Fans from neighbouring States are also expected. A good number of NRIs are already in the the State, visiting various places, before arriving in Tirupati on D day.

At this hi-tech age, how far the glamour factor will work out for Chiranjeevi’s party. Glamour part is largely viewed as a broken chunk with its mass forming not more than 10 percent of the gross. In order to win the confidence of the people, Chiranjeevi has to come out with a party agenda. Definitely, the entire course of his action would depend on this.
Wavering campaigns and schemes
Going by Dr. Mitra’s words (Chiru’s political advisor), Chiranjeevi’s party will never be attacking the other political parties. The party would be concentrating more on seeking the public vote with a singular point – Give us a chance this time. We will show the difference. But, the Congress party is in the forefront of political mileage thanks to the populist schemes like Arogya Sri, Rajiv Grihakalpa, Food for School Children and such like. The TDP Supremo recently covered a 117-day Mee Kosam yatra, claiming a sweeping wave in favor of his party. The BJP is banking on the national issues. The Communists are yet to decide their political course of action, with no word about their alliances in the coming elections. In such a situation, a campaign without masala will not give any kick to the voters.
Telangana Issue
Chiranjeevi image as megastar is equally distributed from Ichchapuram to Chittoor. Such being the case, how would Chiranjeevi respond to the Telangana issue? Will Chiru’s “Chiru Navvula Andhra Pradesh and Santhosh Andhra Pradesh” be possible without Telangana? How would the Rayalaseema and Coastal areas respond to Chiru’s stand on T, if he were to take any?
Farmers & Villages
The political criticism is that Chiranjeevi doesn’t know anything about farmers’ issues and he has no knowledge of life in villages. At this point of attack, the immediate option before the actor is to make a whirlwind tour of the state. Except for seeing him on the small screen and big screen, how many people have seen him directly in the state? Will he convince the masses that he is not alien to the farmers’ issues and their villages? How fast? This is important.

Today’s film industry has split itself, politically. During the last elections, there was absolutely no star campaigning. But, the people are going to have so many stars this time. Unlike other political parties, Chiranjeevi’s party office is being built with a difference. It looks like a corporate office. What about it’s functioning? Politics means not sitting before computers and CC TVs, already criticism has come out. The need of the hour is less concentration on corporate culture and more on people’s friendly strategies.

The dynamics of election campaign has changed immensely in the last one decade. Money and liquor flow like anything. Nobody can deny this. This is going to be the monstrous problem for Chiranjeevi party. To what extent, his party would educate the people against this perpetual evil has to be seen.

Chiranjeevi seems to be feeling a bit frightened as to whether he would be able to live up to the expectations of the people, who are flooding him with wishes day in and day out. People are thronging his office in large numbers everyday and after seeing their response, he is working out a strategy to impress upon them.
As part of that, Chiranjeevi has decided to create an impression among the people that he is a man of simplicity. He made an appeal to his fans and supporters not to bring any garlands or bouquets to greet him. "Your support and blessings are enough to boost my morale. Please keep away from all ostentatiousness," he said.
Chiru declared that he would be celebrating his birthday on August 22 "at his mother's feet" in Hyderabad. He also requested all his fans not to come to Hyderabad to greet him. "Instead, plant a tree in my name at your respective place. That would fetch a lot of goodwill for me," he said. What a simplicity?
