Madhavan files complaint against his own film

Madhavan, for the first time has approached the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), to stop the release of his bilingual film Naan, Aval, Athu (Telugu: Nenu, Thanu, Aame ). In his complaint, Madhavan says that producer Gaurav Sharma has been trying to release the Tamil and Telugu remake of Hindi film Darling which was originally titled Leelai without settling his salary dues to the tune of Rs 75 lakhs. The movie also stars Sada and Shamita Shetty and is directed by writer-turned-director Kona Venkat.

The Hindi original Darling directed by Ram Gopal Varma released last year, was an average hit. It starred Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol and Isha Koppikkar.

The problems with Naan Aval Adhu are much more serious than just Madhavan’s fee issues. The producer reportedly ran into financial troubles during the final phase of the movie’s shooting. He left Chennai without informing anybody and the shooting of the movie was stalled. After many days the producer returned to Chennai and went ahead with the post production works without informing the crew about it. He is reported to have edited the movie and dubbed it into Telugu with the intention of releasing it, even with a portion of the script still remaining to be shot.

Producer Gaurav Sharma is also said to have tried to organize an audio release function in Hyderabad which was stopped after director Kona Venkat filed a complaint in the Andhra Pradesh council. Gourav Sharma is also believed to have tried to arrange for an audio release in Tamil. But even this seems to be in trouble as Madhavan who is currently in Mumbai shooting for a Hindi film has already spoken to Nadigar Sangam chief Sarathkumar regarding this and will meet other office bearers immediately upon his return from Mumbai.
