Story: Lavanya (Swathi) is a youthful and bubbly girl whose only mission in life- is to marry Film star Mahesh Babu. Lavanya is madly in love with him- she is disappointed when she gets to know that Mahesh has been married to Namratha.Anand(Srinivas) neighbour and Childhood friend of Lavanya searches a person with the name Mahesh and introduces her to Lavanya –they both fall in love, however things get interesting when it is known that Mahesh's actual name is Rambabu and Anand falls in love with varalakshmi(Bhargavi)- sister of Rambabu .What happens after that forms the rest of the story??



Performances: Nani is good as the lead Actor his ease in dances and Dialogue delivery is commendable for a debutant. Srinivas has good timing in comedy and his histrionics are well portrayed. Sawthi steals the show with her bubbly performance. Bhargavi suited well to the village belly role. Jhansi, tanikella bharani, hema and other cast have done their job well. Music is o.k. goes pretty much with the mood of the film, the lyrics by Sirivenella needs a special mention. Cinematography was good. The production values are o.k. The direction is clean with a little bit dragged screenplay.



Analysis: The Movie is clean entertainer with love backdrop. It has been a long time we have watched such a Clean Love Story. Nani has does justice to his role well. He shines through with his spontaneity, and his diction and language are refreshingly fluent Srinivas gives many a expressions in a single frame and reminds us of Vamsi’s movies. Swathi with her Expressive eyes and bubbly behavior makes you feel like the girl next door. She has bettered herself as an actor after the Movies “Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Veruley” and “Subramanyapuram”(Tamil). Bhargavi is o.k.Jhansi suited
well to the role but her loud shouts some times are irresistible and intolerable. Tanikella was not utilized completely and Jhansi was strong enough on the screen.
Coming to the Scripting and Direction – Some dialogues are funny and spontaneous, the Screenplay in the first half was good and pacy, later on it has become too much predictable and
the last 20 minutes is full of confusion with unreal Scenes and screams/Shouts all over. The taking is quite novel. The climax could have been better. The Movie takes off well on a promising note but it did not maintain the same tempo. The Music by kalyani Malik is o.k. The title song Ashta Chemma is very pleasant to the ears. All the cast speak fluent Telugu (thanks to the producer-Director for picking only Telugu-speaking actors). Many Scenes & Dialogues remind us of Jandhyala, Bapu and Vamsi Movies.

The film will definitely appeal the multiplex and metro audience but there is not much for the Masses except the 'Mahesh' syndrome. The Film can do decently on the Whole. Strictly for family Audience who are fun loving.

Story: Saroja (Vega), a class Twelve student gets kidnapped. Vishwanath Prakashraj), her father a multimillionare, is trying to get her back from the Kidnapper Sampath), who has emanded a ransom of Rs. 20 crores.-----


Ajay (Shiva) is a TV serial star engaged to Pooja KajalAgarwal). Ganesh (Premji) is a happy-go-lucky guy who is forever falling in love. Venga Swamy (Vaibhav) is the heartbroken romeo, Ranga Swamy(Sharan), Venga Swamy’s elder brother, is a married man all of them are on theirway to Hyderabad to watch a cricket match. How do the four heroes get entangled with saroja’s kinapping?? How these guys fall into trouble forms the rest of the story…Prakash raj played the role of Sincere police officer who is on the job to rescue saroja.


Performances: All the tamil cast(four heroes) have done reasonably good job.Prakash raj and srihari fit the bill. Vega is cute and Nikhitha has done an item song. The Music by Yuvan is good. The Production values are good. The Direction by Prabhu is of top rated.

Analysis: This movie is a bilingual one in most of the shots you observe the cast uttering tamil dialogues and it gives you a feel that it’s a dubbed film.The complete star cast is the repeat cast of Prabhu’s previous Hit(in Tamil) Chennai 600028. The complete cast has done fantastic job.Kajal is charming; Vega is endearing; and Nikitha is absolutely hot! The real strengths of the movie are Yuvan Shankar Raja's music –background score in particular---and Sakthi Saravanan's cinematography. Both do magic from the beginning till end, not to forget about the editing by Praveen K L and Srikanth N B.

The movie manages to be an almost perfect mix of friendship, suspense, thrills, action and a logical screenplay triumphing on top of everything else.The Movie starts on a slow place and at one point of time it might briefly look like “I Know What You Did Last Summer” but it is not. The first half is bit dragged and appears lengthy.

Time slots appear at appropriate points, indicating what happens when…..


Venkat Prabhu has done the impossible,his second directorial venture Saroja is far superior to his debut film Chennai 00028. SAROJA is an interesting adventure and a fun flick. He has done quite a commendable job once again. He has managed to make a movie that combines action with comedy, without diluting the seriousness of the plot.

A perfect fun filled Thriller cum entertainer.

Telugus Audiences


Verdict: Go Go and watch it. Good Movie cannot be
missed.

Story

kathanayakudu Balu (Jagapati Babu) is a barber in a remote village. He is a straight-forth man with honesty. He has an understanding wife (Meena) and three kids. Ashok Kumar (Rajnikanth) – the superstar of film industry – is his childhood friend. But Balu loses touch with Ashok after he becomes an actor. The unit of Ashok's latest film comes to the village of Balu for a cinema shoot. Balu's family members and village men ask Balu to take them to Ashok. But Balu is such a kind of guy who does not want to ask favors. The rest of the story is all about how the honest Balu and raging superstar meet.

Artists Performance :

kathanayakudu Rajnikant: Rajnikant mesmerizes you again with his 60-minute screen presence in this film. He is super stylish in the various costumes (Mask of the Zorro, Lawrence of Arabia etc) donned in two songs of the film. He also has a very sensible part in the film where he tries to explain the mindset of an actor and superstar. SP Balu who usually dubs for Kamal Hassan dubbed for Rajnikant in this film.

kathanayakuduJagapati Babu: Jagapati Babu came up with one of the finest performances of his career. This role demands a tremendous histrionics from the actor in Jagapati Babu and he does a wonderful job. His get-up is also good. But one wonders why he has light beard though he is doing the role of barber.

Others: Meena is apt as the wife of Jagapati Babu. Nayana Tara sizzles as film heroine paired with Rajnikant. Dharmavarapu entertains. Sunil's escapades in second half are good, especially his expressions while ogling at Nayana Tara. Ali is alright. Brahmanandam is wasted. The comedy of MS Narayana and Kondavalasa does not appeal.

Technical Departments:

kathanayakuduStory - screenplay - direction: This film is a remake of a Malayalam blockbuster - Katha Parayumbol. The story of the film is old-fashioned and simple. The director tried to stick to the story than going for commercial gimmicks with Rajnikant for the sake of commerciality. The screenplay should have been better. Narration is a bit slower. The director handled the climax well by making it a heart-touching one.

kathanayakuduOther departments: Music by GV Prakash Kumar is good. Cinematography by Aravind Krishna stands out. His work for 'chele chele' is very good. Dialogues written for Rajnikant deserve claps. Dialogues like 'tinna tindi vantlone vunte, vantiki manchidi kaadu. Sampadinchina dabbu intlone vunte intiki manchidi kaadu' and 'talli, tandri, guruvu, daivam antaru. Kaani talli, tandri, guruvu, snehitudu, daivam anaali'. The dialogues written for Rajnikant in a conversation with educationalist are very true and entertaining. Art work is also good. The special effects work done to this film is neat. Production values are nice.
