Double Patch Up for Shah Rukh

The entire film industry was shocked to see Shah Rukh Khan at the premiere of Drona. Incidentally, SRK came in with his entire family (Gauri, Aryan and Suhana) and close friend Kajal Anand, and was seen in the company of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan before watching the film. Doubly shocking was the display of warmth between SRK and Aishwarya, as they posed for the shutterbugs.

Our source present at the premiere of Drona says, "If SRK’s entry at the premiere was not surprising enough, the fact that he walked up and spoke to Aishwarya Rai was a bigger one. When Shah Rukh came in around 9.30 pm, he first politely gave sound bytes to the media and then headed to the premiere.

Following this, he greeted every one and then went up to Amitabh Bachchan, hugged him and had a brief conversation with him. He then walked up to Abhishek and Aishwarya and broke the ice by greeting the latter. They all laughed after that and everyone who saw them speaking swear that it seemed as if nothing was amiss between them. In fact SRK also stressed that any war between the Bachchans and him was only media-created."

It can be recalled here that the cold war between SRK and Aishwarya Rai started after SRK threw Aishwarya Rai out of his film Chalte Chalte in late 2002. That was after Aishwarya Rai’s then boyfriend Salman Khan barged in on the sets and created a ruckus after an altercation with his girlfriend.

Shah Rukh and Ash have not been in touch since five years and have cold shouldered each other at public events and social dos. However, the fact that SRK took the first step to meet the Bachchans indicates that the animosity between the two families is a thing of the past."

We wonder if this means that the recent ’friendship’ between Abhishek and Salman will be affected by this recent development. One has to wait and see.

Also present at the event were the Ambanis, Karan Johar, Preity Zinta, who arrived in the company of Ritesh Deshmukh. Sushmita Sen looked as if she had lost a few pounds, while Anil Kapoor arrived with daughter Sonam. Twinkle Khanna drove in in the luxury edition of her new Rolce Royce Phantom (was Priyanka Chopra watching?).

The only one who was conspicuous by his absence was Aamir Khan, who could not make it.
