Siddharth is miffed with Rakeysh

Rang De Basanti star Siddharth is mighty miffed with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for ditching him at the last minute. It is said that Rakeysh had promised the young actor the lead role after he was praised for his debut role in Rang De Basanti. Siddharth on the other hand, started declining other projects as he was extremely excited to be a part of such a big project with Rakeysh. Meanwhile, Rakeysh kept delaying the project and citing various reasons like his script was not ready or there were other pre-production hassles.

A source informs that, “Rakeysh was actually trying to rope in a big star as the lead. He was trying his best to rope in Hrithik Roshan first and Hrithik initially showed interest but after his home production work began, he refused the offer. Then Rakeysh approached Ranbir but finally Abhishek Bachchan was chosen for the main lead. During this time, Siddharth was not considered and was not informed of the developments. He was mighty disappointed when he learnt about his ouster.” “So dejected he had been that he has almost stopped signing new Hindi projects and concentrating more on Telugu films where he is considered a huge star and is a big teenage heartthrob,” adds the source.
