Anand retains World Chess title
A 6.5-4.5 win in the series against Kramnik gave him the world title for the third time, his first in match-play.
When he won the world title in Tehran (2000) and Mexico (2007) in tournaments, he had not got the credit he deserved. On the first occasion, Kasparov was still active, winning in classical chess. In 2007, Kramnik had already become a champion having beaten Kasparov in 2000 and subsequently other contenders as well in match-play.
Even when Kramnik finished behind Anand in the 2007 world championship, Kramnik had challenged Anand to beat him in the 2008 unification match to be acknowledged as the real world champion. "I have lent Anand the title temporarily," he had declared then.
Anand’s retort was over the board and not through words. He planned his assault perfectly, prepared well for the match in Bonn and won in style. He would probably regain his No 1 world ranking soon, though his Bonn victory would not give him more than 12 or 15 points. More significantly, he has added a new dimension to his chess and can claim he is currently the best all-round player at the moment.
"A great job done, my son", exulted the proud father of Vishwanathan Anand who retained the world chess crown defeating Vladimir Kramnik of Russia in Bonn on Wednesday.
Vishwanathan said the family had been tense for the last few days and the result is a great relief. The father said "it was a lone battle Anand had fought. Today, he has the entire nation behind him".
Anand’s achievements so far:
1985: Arjuna Award, Outstanding Indian Sportsman (Chess)
1987: Padma Shri, youngest ever recipient
1991-92: Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, first ever recipient
1997: Chess "Oscar" Best Chess Player of 1997
1998: Chess "Oscar" Best Chess Player of 1998
1998: Sportstar Millenium Award, from India’s premier Sports magazine for being the sportperson of the millenium
2000: Padma Bhushan, for being the first Asian to win the World Championship
2003: Chess "Oscar" Best Chess Player of 2003
2004: Chess "Oscar" Best Chess Player of 2004
2007: World Chess Champion (undisputed)
2007: Was awarded the second highest civilian award of India, the Padma Vibhushan.

NTR as BRAHMIN in Vinayak movie
Blade babji is getting good collections than KBL
Blade babji has lots of good humourous scenes and story is also good.Though the climax of the film is little bit dragged, overall it is a worth watching film and in B,C centers it is running with good collections.
On the other hand,KBL is getting poor response in B,C centers. The story looks like 10th class and notebook films.Though the first half is good,it has lots of double meaning dialogues and it is sure that watching this film with parents feels lots of discomfort among children. Its second half is boring with loads of sentiment in it.Prakashraj character is the only hightlight of the movie. This is the response getting from B,C centers youth. Some college guys from a B class center said "we have lots of expectation on this film as it is coming from dil raju banner, but it never met our expectations either in first half or second half"
Overall for this diwali KBL ruling A centers where as BladeBabji ruling B,C centers.

Sting on Chiranjeevi creates ripples in Praja Rajyam
In a secretly filmed video, whose origin was not known, Chiranjeevi was seen telling a group of young IT professionals that they should be wary of politicians willing to join Praja Rajyam Party.
"The change we want to bring in the system will not be achieved if we open flood gates to politicians. They may be inevitable for the party in some places because of their experience but they don’t bring in freshness," he told the gathering of his followers in his chambers in the highly-guarded party office here.
The nine-minute video was sent by unidentified persons to local TV channels which aired the footage and was also available on the internet.
Soon, the bloggers went cracking, posting a flurry of comments for and against the episode.
It is not clear who is behind the sting operation and what could be the purpose behind it.
The video showed Chiranjeevi in a relaxed mood, exchanging views with a group of his young fans on a wide range of issues including SEZs, political corruption and organisational matters.
Speaking to them informally, he virtually suggested to them to "spy" on the politicians desiring to join the party and wanted politicians to be kept out of the finer details of the new party.
The meeting was said to be aimed at discussing strategies for building the party organisation.
"We need young people like you who are selfless, dedicated and committed to bring in change in the society. You are my inspiration. You should appear to be closely working with politicians but at the same time keep a tab on them," Chiranjeevi, was seen telling the gathering.
Justifying Chiranjeevi’s comments, senior party leader Harirama Jogaiah, himself a veteran politician, said there was nothing wrong in cautioning against politicians who were out to play spoilsport.
Citing the instance of matinee idol and TDP founder president late N T Rama Rao being "ditched" by politicians close to him, Jogaiah, who recently quit Congress to join Praja Rajyam, said there was nothing disparaging about Chiranjeevi’s comments.

Obama assassination plot thwarted
The two men planned to kill some 88 people and decapitate 14 African-Americans, before in a final act assassinating Obama, bidding to be the country’s first black president, the documents revealed.
Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, were arrested Wednesday in Tennessee for possession of firearms, threats against a candidate running for president and conspiring to rob a gun store, the Department of Justice said.
The men discussed a "killing spree to include targeting a predominantly African-American school," Brian Weaks, an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told a Memphis court Monday.
"They further stated that their final act of violence would be to attempt to kill/assassinate presidential candidate Barack Obama," he added, as the two men appeared before the federal court.
The Obama campaign declined to comment on the case.
Cowart, from Bells, Tennessee, and Schlesselman, from Arkansas, met via the Internet a month ago and have "very strong beliefs and views regarding ‘White Power’ and ‘Skinhead’ views," Weaks told the court.
Cowart had bought one rifle and stockpiled two handguns, both stolen from his grandfather. They planned to steal another high-powered rifle from a gun store in Jackson, Tennessee, as well as a series of robberies to finance their bloody actions.
"Schlesselman stated that they planned to drive their vehicles as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows," Weaks said.
"Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt. Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt."
Acting US Attorney for western district of Tennessee, Lawrence Laurenzi, said: "The allegations set forth in this criminal complaint are serious and will be treated as such.
"The public can rest assured that federal, state, and local law enforcement are diligently working together to investigate and prosecute the alleged activity," he added in a statement.
The two men will be brought back to the Memphis federal court on Thursday.
Obama, who has made history by becoming the first black presidential nominee of a major political party, is already under secret service protection having received it much earlier in the campaign than any other presidential candidate.
In late August, the alarm was also raised when it was revealed three men were arrested with a weapons cache in Denver, Colorado where the party convention was being held. US attorneys later said there had been no credible threat against Obama.
The Memphis court was told that just before their arrest Cowart and Schlesselman had bought food, nylon rope and ski masks.
They also shot out the window of a local church in Brownsville, Tennessee, before driving back to Cowart’s grandfather’s home where they chalked racist words and symbols, including a Swastika and the numbers 14 and 88 onto the hood of Cowart’s car.
"It is critical that the alleged plot was interrupted," said James Cavanaugh, special agent in charge at the ATF. "All forces of law enforcement have come together to stop this threat."
Tabu’s unfilfilled Sexual desires
The film resolves around the relationship between Emperor Ahoka and his son, Kinal. Tabu’s new avtar is a bit controversial in the film, as she plays a sexually deprived woman, thereby allowing a good deal of sexual connotation. She is cast opposite of Amitabh Bachchan and will be seen as sexually linked with Kunal, played by Arjun Rampal.
As in the Director’s word, ‘She’s unable to achieve sexual fulfillment. Desire when uncontrolled, plays havoc with the mind. That’s Tabu’s story’ in the film. He also quotes that her character suffers from ‘ kama tanha’ or ‘sexual isolation’.
The sexual yearning of Tabu’s character is contrasted with another character of the film, the character of Kanchanmala, Kunal’s wife, to be portrayed by Amrita Rao. According to Dwivedi, if Tabu’s character implies ‘thirst’, Amrita’s character implies ‘purity’. There seems to be quite a good opportunity to set a dramatic confrontation between these two leading ladies in the film.
Sunil to take up direction
Meanwhile, a gossip is doing rounds that Sunil is going to take up direction. Moreover, it seems the film is going to be produced by Trivikram Srinivas. Rumours say that the film is likely to start rolling in summer next year. If this gossip is true, Sunil would create a record of working with four directors in one year as hero. As per information, Sunil is going to play hero under Rajamouli’s direction, with Mullapudi Vara providing the story. Chandrasekhar Yeleti penning the screenplay. Besides, he is going to direct the film with Trivikram Srinivas.

They perhaps never imagined of getting so busy with work. But Anchors these days are truly the busiest lot. They hop from one studio to another and from one channel to another and recent addition of new channels has landed the successful ones with more than what they can actually get anchored to.
From cookery to beauty to game shows, one finds these bubbly hosts dishing out a wide and varied fare.
Such is the frenetic pace of content generation that one anchor says she is working almost 28 to 29 days a month!
Surely a major change from a situation where anchors used to wait for days and weeks for a shoot. (Hindu)
Minister: Diwakar Reddy took bribe
The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, on Sunday took a serious note of the rivalry between two of his Cabinet ministers, Mr J.C. Diwakar Reddy, and Mr G. Surya Rao. The Chief Minister asked veteran ministers, Mr K. Rosaiah, K. Ranga Rao and Geetha Reddy to go into the details of the controversy and submit a report to him as early as possible.
Mr. Surya Rao alleged at the Zilla Parishad meeting that his fellow Minister took bribes to the tune of Rs. 7 crore in sand mining contracts and forced the officials to purchase a car exclusively for his use whenever he visits the district. “Ever since his appointment as the Minister in-charge, Mr. Diwakar Reddy’s behaviour had lowered the party’s prestige in the district,” he said.
Mr Surya Rao told mediapersons that the minister bought a new car worth Rs 12 lakh with the money given by some traders of East Godavari district.
According to sources the differences between the two ministers intensified a few months ago when a woman mandal parishad development officer of Upplaguptam was transferred against the wishes of Mr Surya Rao. Mr Rao’s supporters also wanted to protest against the transfer when Diwakar Reddy last visited Kakinada.
Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao who felt that the issue was sure to dent the party’s image and prospects wanted the Chief Minister to take immediate damage control measures.
Minister Pilli Subash Chandra Bose, who also belongs to East Godavari, demanded that Mr. Surya Rao withdraw his remarks as they tantamounted to character assassination of Mr. Diwakar Reddy. He opined that the matter could be inquired, if necessary, but it was not fair on the part of Mr. Surya Rao to castigate Mr. Diwakar Reddy in such a brazen manner.
ZP Chairman Ch. Venugopala Krishna felt that the comments without verifying facts would damage the party’s reputation when it was gearing up to face elections. (Hindu)
How intimate are Meher Ramesh and Hansika?
In fact, it was Meher Ramesh, who succeeded in recommending her to ‘Desamuduru’ and introduced her to the Telugu film industry. Later, he convinced her to play heroine in ‘Kantri’, the debutant film for Meher Ramesh as director. Again, the same director got the dates of Hansika for his next movie with Prabhas as hero, the remake of successful Tamil film ‘Billa’. Though Hansika is known for troubling the producers in adjusting dates, how Meher Ramesh is able to gain an upper hand has become a million dollar question. Some people in the industry started investigation into the intimacy between the heroine and the director. (nonstopcinema)
Is NTR’s mom holding him back?
According to highly placed sources, it is Shalini who has prevailed upon 25-year-old Junior NTR against campaigning for Naidu. While TDP sources maintain that it is purely a motherly concern about the future of his son, insiders say that the reality is much more than that. “Shalini had been ostracised by the NTR family. In fact, it was Ch Ramoji Rao who gave a break to Junior NTR, not the family. The family started wooing him only after he made his mark in Tollywood, all on his own,” said one insider. Junior NTR is still a bachelor.
Ramoji Rao did launch Junior NTR, but the film ‘Ninnu Choodalani’ did not make any impact. It was the second film, ‘Student No. 1,’ that launched Junior NTR’s film career, and very shortly, hits like ‘Aadi’ and ‘Simhadri’ ensured that the ‘unaccepted’ grandson of NTR, and his closest look-alike, has arrived.
TDP insiders say Shalini had not forgiven the NTR clan on the one hand, and Naidu on the other, for the initial treatment meted out to her and son. While Junior NTR was virtually ignored by the NTR clan despite being the son of Harikrishna, she was not accepted in the Nandamuri clan because she was the second wife of Harikrishna.
Thus while the NTR clan is posing problems for Naidu by projecting Balakrishna as their leader rather than the TDP president, Shalini’s prevailing on Junior NTR to concentrate on his career rather than lend a helping hand to Naidu can act as a big blow to Naidu’s comeback dream. “With so many problems within, Naidu is relying on Balakrishna to sort things out but it is doubtful whether Junior NTR would listen to him as the latter considers his mother as the only person who stood by him through the thick and thin,” one insider remarked.
According to sources, Naidu has urged Balakrishna to prevail upon the clan to project a united picture at least at the ‘Yuvagarjana’ rally in Guntur on November 5. “Junior NTR’s absence would be a big blow for Naidu as the actor has a seizable following in the coastal region, the battleground where Chiranjeevi is threatening Naidu’s domain. Rather than Balakrishna, if Naidu wants Junior NTR at the Guntur rally, he should approach Shalini. But is he willing to do it is the question,” said a TDP leader. (TNN)

Ruthika’s new strategy
Films like ’Donga Ramudu and Party’ have her touch. Now Ruthika after all those desperate housewife roles has gone ballistic. In the latest offering Blade Babji she combines a little navel and cleavage exposure with some comedy. She seems to be doing well based on the audience response.
Ruthika’s role in Blade Babji is in some ways very similar to the one played by Bhuvaneshwari in ’Donga Ramudu and Party’. Ruthika also seems to be committed to enthrall audiences in time to come with her new found mantra. (andhracafe)

How old is Mallika ?
Not very long ago, a news channel reported about how Mallika’s been lying about her age. They aired details about how she was 23 when she was working as an air hostess in 1994. They splashed proof too!
So how come she is turning 27 and not 37 in 2008 after 14 long years? Some websites have reported that Mallika’s celebrating her 27TH birthday on October 24!
There were even talks about the dame being married for a while and how she still claimed to be a virgin, making her the first married virgin on earth!
We know that she has achieved quite a lot in life with her very own bold style and has given good performances in movies like ‘Murder’ and ‘Pyar Ke side effects’.
Well, she’s also well maintained for a middle aged woman and has a great body and all that, but does it give her the right to lie about her age?
Well, it must have a lot to do with the film industry being age conscious. Mallika is kind of doing what the likes of Bipasha, Vidya and Sherlyn etc are doing!
So it will be better if she stops the talks about being different and all that! -(SAMPURN)

Did Kareena turn down role opposite Johnny Depp ?
The Bride and Prejudice NRI filmmaker reportedly offered Kareena a role in the film which promises to be a lavish, international production. Gurinder is also in talks with Depp for this film. But, tut-tut, Kareena said no. She’s got no dates. And, she’s unimpressed by Hollywood offers she got so far.
She’d rather do meaningful and bigger roles in Bollywood, like the ones she's doing right now — 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan, Kambaqt Ishq with Akshay Kumar, and Main Aur Mrs Khanna with Salman Khan. We salute the talented actress and the smart lady. Why be a slave in Hollywood when she’s the czarina of Bollywood!
Yuvraj in ugly spat with Orissa ex-minister’s son
Yuvraj, who is in the Orissa capital to take part in the three-team Challenger Series, was reportedly playing pool with other players around 10.30pm when the incident took place. Hotel sources said Sandeep, who was sitting in the vicinity with his wife, took strong exception to certain indecent remarks allegedly made by the 26-year-old cricketer.
Following Yuvi’s remarks - which hotel sources said did not behove an international player of his stature - Sandeep is believed to have brushed against the cricketer, leading to an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation. Both men were heard hurling abuses at each other in Hindi and English.
Tempers cooled after about 15 minutes following the intervention of senior hotel staff. Both men then shook hands, sources said. In December 2006, Yuvraj had reportedly got into a brawl with a guest at a party thrown to celebrate the star batsman’s birthday in Gurgaon.
The left-handed batsman, who is captain of India Blue team in the Challenger Series being played in Cuttack from October 23 to 26, had arrived in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. All cricketers playing the tournament, including a number of Internationals and India hopefuls, are lodged at the plush Mayfair Lagoon owned by businessman and Congress leader Ray.
Yuvraj, busy playing the India Blue versus India Red match on Thursday, could not be accessed for comments despite repeated attempts. Sandeep admitted he was involved in "a minor problem" with the cricketer. "We didn’t know each other. There was a misunderstanding. But we have sorted it out," he told TOI.
The hotel management, wary of the issue snowballing into a controversy ahead of the November 26 One-day International between India and England at Cuttack, preferred not to comment. "We have no official version on this," a hotel spokesperson said. (TNN)
Gilchrist slams Sachin, calls him a ‘bad sport’
Gilchrist says that Tendulkar shirks from a handshake if he ends on the losing side. Describing the dramatic final moments on the final day of the Sydney Test, which India lost narrowly, Gilchrist says: "We went into the Indian changing room and shook hands. Not all their players could be found, which points to another subtle cultural difference. In the Australian mentality, we play it hard and are then quick to shake hands and leave it all on the field. Some of our opponents don’t do it that way. Sachin Tendulkar, for instance, can be hard to find for a changing room handshake after we have beaten India. Harbhajan can also be hard to find."
Gilchrist’s views make it clear that he isn’t a fan of Tendulkar, who has been a hugely admired figure in Australia ever since he first played in the country as a teenager in 1991-92.
Gilchrist not only accuses Tendulkar of being a bad sport, but also goes on to criticise his role in the ’monkeygate’ scandal involving Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds earlier this year in Australia.
He blames Tendulkar for not sticking by his story about the episode. At the first hearing Tendulkar claimed he hadn’t heard what Harbhajan had said and during the second he supported his teammate’s version that he had used a Hindi swear word that sounded similar to monkey.
"Tendulkar, who’d said at the first hearing that he hadn’t been able to hear what Harbhajan had said - and he was a fair way away, up the other end, so I’m certain he was telling the truth - now supported Harbhajan’s version that he hadn’t called Symo a ’monkey’ but instead a Hindi term of abuse that might sound like ’monkey’ to Australian ears," Gilchrist writes.
His charges against Tendulkar are likely to fuel the already acrimonious relations between the two cricketing superpowers. Australia are currently in India playing a four-match Test series an have lost the second Test at Mohali by India 320 runs to trail 0-1 in the series.
A major portion True Colours, an extract of which appears in Friday’s Good Weekend, revolves around India’s 2007-08 tour to Australia which saw one of the most acrimonious on and off the field exchanges between the players of the two teams.
While Harbhajan and Symonds were involved in the monkeygate controversy, the Test match at Sydney which Australia won was marred by charges of gamesmanship and poor umpiring.
The tour was almost on the verge of being called off before better sense prevailed.
He also accuses the Board of Control for Cricket in India of "playing politics" on monkeygate and blames Cricket Australia and the ICC of "caving in" when original charge of racism against Harbhajan was downgraded and his suspension lifted.
Gilchrist’s comments have not been welcomed by the experts in the cricketing world. Former chairman of selectors Dilip Vengsarkar slammed Gilchrist for his comments against Tendulkar and believes that it is just another way of building curiosity ahead of the release of his book. He said, "Gilly’s comment is a marketing strategy to sell his autobiography."
Meanwhile, India’s media manager during the Australian tour — MV Sridhar, who was present at both the hearings of the name calling incident said that Gilly’s comments are uncalled for. He added, "Why do you have to mention words in the middle of the series. This comment is highly uncalled for and I think this is quiet sad that such comments are being made."
Australian Journalist Jon Pierik is of the opinion that Gilly’s comment about Tendulkar might inflame tensions between the two sides. He said, "Sachin is regarded as a great man in the cricketing world and since Gilly does not play anymore, not much of an action will be taken. The issue may not be as explosive as its made to be."
Infact one of the witness of the name calling row, Matthew Hayden has said that everyone involved in that incident has moved on and has gone onto praise Harbhajan Singh saying that the off-spinner is a true star in terms of spirit of the game. He said, "I admire Harbhajan Singh and the way he has played in this series. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch him play and has been a great challenge for the batsmen. Everyone has however, moved on from the last summer." (inputs from IBNLive)
Another comedian daring to be a hero
Tollywood comedians are daring their way, entering into the big competition as heroes. It is known that Ali, Venu Madhav, Suneel, Krishna Bhagavan, and Brahmanandam have tried their hands in this transition. Latest in the que is ’Satyam’ Rajesh, who was introduced as a comedian with ’Satyam’ that starred Sumanth as hero.
The new film casting ’Satyam’ Rajesh as hero will be produced by an industrialist from Vizag. A young director is said to be introduced with this film.
Earlier this year Ali in ’Somberi’, Venu Madhav in ’Hungama’ & ’Premabishekam’ , Suneel in ’Andala Ramudu’, Krishna Bhagavan in ’John Apparao 40 plus’ and the comedy king Brahmanandam’s ’ Brahmanandam Drama Company’ have tried their hands in becoming heroes. But looks like transitions don’t always come easy, and they all failed to impress.
Ironically, these comedians have carved a niche for themselves in Telugu filmdom and drew applause even in star-centric films. May be it is a case of the actors have chosen bad scripts. Whatever it is, a niche attains itself for people of different strata in the filmdom and if comedians wish to make it to stardom, it would be one big task to attain this transition. - (indiaglitz)

Analysis: Teja has come up with yet another meaningless love story that has no soul and feel. The narration technique followed by him is new to some extent but failed miserably in sustaining the grip/Audience Interest. The Screenplay is so bad. He lost the track some where in the middle and tried to link completely two different backdrops---- of college and Street children in kolkata. There is not even a single Scene where the Audience gets entertained--- Added to it there are pages & Pages of Bengali/Hindi dialogues supported by Telugu Subtitles which irritate the Audience. The story itself is out dated. The love Scenes doesn’t deliver any feel. The film is completely in contrary to the hype created by Teja.
The Music is o.k. The songs “Love you” and “ Adigave maatayina” are very melodious and hum able. At last Chakri has come up with something new that he hasn’t done before. The back ground Score too is o.k. to some extent. The only best part of the film is Spectacular Cinematography by P.C.Sriram. The frames are Stunningly good. The lighting Scheme followed is fantastic. The reverse action Scenes are well shown in the Song “ Adigaave maatayina” .The locations in Calcutta are very well exploited. If any one can touch/reach the visual Standards set by P.C.Sriram is none another the master himself.
Teja casted mostly new faces except a few actors like Ralla palli, Duvvasi & Dharmavarapu whom we find in almost every film of his. Raja (Lyricist Sirivennela Seeta Rama Sastry's son) is o.k. , He has done a decent job for a debutante. He has to improve a lot in his expression, overall an average show. Anup's performance is ok and Ajay's dubbing suited well. Heroine Ishana resembles Neha Jhulka (Okkadunnadu fame) and Illeana in many a frames-she is o.k and has good screen presence. If the over action in emotional scenes is overlooked she has done reasonably o.k job. Like Teja’s previous films titles this title ‘KEKA’ also is no way related to the story- he has just gone by his sentiment of having a two-lettered Movie title (he has been following).
Previous Teja films at least have the immature love Subject as center theme and revolve around the youth-this film lacks that too……… Keka is a Big Disappointment
Plus: Cinematography, A couple of Songs
Minus: Weak Story line , bad narration, lack of entertainment
Verdict: Strictly Avoidable – Flop

Ileana Refuses To Act with Venkatesh
‘Satyameva Jayathe’, a remake of Hindi ‘Khakee’
‘Satyameva Jayathe’, a remake of Hindi ‘Khakee’ has Rajasekhar playing the lead role while his wife Jeevitha is directing this flick. To note here Rajasekhar on one hand has sizzling sexy beauty Sanjana as his lovelady and on other hand he is making efforts to rope in miss universe and bollywood hot & sexy actress Lara Dutta to play an item number. It seems Rajasekhar wanted to use the same song for his film which was performed by Lara in Hindi version. All said and done hero Rajasekhar and director Jeevitha will decide whether to proceed with the original song for the Telugu version or reshoot it again with Lara Dutta.
Denies rumours about sizzling scenes
"On the contrary it is aesthetically and elegantly captured sans any vulgarity," clarifies the attractive damsel, who claims that refreshing theme and appealing narration are the USP of her much-awaited film.
She also claims to have received a couple of offers after her last success Souryam but she is not open to the ’sister’ act per se. "I did that role since the story revolved around me," reasons the former Miss Andhra, who also thumbed down a second lead role in a big star film. "I want to be very selective," informs the up and coming actress, who has her priorities right. -(indiabuzz)
Caught in the act!
man called her to a five-star hotel to narrate his script and began requesting her for money saying he lost his credit card.
The man got in touch with Shaurya through her public relations manager Alok Mathur. Calling himself Ravi, he told Mathur that he was looking for an actress for his directorial debut. He told Mathur that he ’had worked with Rajkumar Hirani’ (of Munnabhai fame).
The man then called Shaurya saying he wanted to see her pictures. Later, she got a message in which Ravi said, ’You are confirmed for my Tamil film starring Arya.’ (Arya is a top actor from the South.) A couple of days later, the man called Shaurya again to tell her that ’he is in Chennai and is coming to meet her’.
Shaurya told us, "He was full of himself. He said that Michelle, who is Hrithik Roshan’s hair-dresser, would style my hair in the film. He even claimed that Michelle is his ex-girlfriend. During the course of the conversation, he told me that he had lost his credit card and had no money."
Shaurya paid the bill and left.
On Sunday, they met again at a hotel in Mumbai. Shaurya says, "He told me that Michelle would also be coming. He pretended to make a few calls and told me that Michelle has met with an accident, but it would be great if I could give him Rs 10,000. He claimed he had to give the money to Michelle, saying his brother would deposit Rs 10,000 in my account in an hour and asked for my account number. However, I suspected foul play and chose to wait (for the money to be deposited in my account).
Meanwhile, we drove down till Bandra as he wanted to be dropped there. I kept checking my account but even after an hour, I hadn’t received any money in my account. When he got down, he asked Rs 4,000. By then, I strongly suspected foul play. Nevertheless, I gave him Rs 700 after which he got down from the car and suddenly started running."
That convinced Shaurya that she had been taken for a ride. She decided to teach him a lesson. "He must have done this to many other aspirants in the film industry. I called him and asked him to meet me again on Monday. He came." According to our photographer who was present in the hotel, the man became suspicious on seeing Mathur accompanying Shaurya. After a brief conversation, he tried to run away but was caught by Mathur. On being questioned, he claimed his name is M Kumarappan from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The duo took him to the police station.
Mathur said, "We have registered an non-cognisable complaint." Shaurya also told us, "After I sent my pictures to Kumarappan, he messaged me that he had finalised me for a Tamil film. I was quite surprised, as he had not seen me in person. I don’t want any other girl to be trapped again in this manner." So, what did Kumarappan have to say? "I did this because I am in dire need of money." -(TNN)

More work for Shraddha
It is a well-known fact that irrespective of the rating of her debut film at the box office, many Tollywood producers want to feature the pretty girl in their films, as she has the Bollywood advantage and is game for more than just acting. Moreover, the actress has the experience of acting with Bollywood’ superstar Amitabh Bachchan, and this certainly is a plus point for her.
Now, this pretty girl is paired with Aryan Rajesh in the film Romeo. "The story and the script are interesting," said Shraddha. She added that many offers are coming her way but she is waiting for the right scripts. Srihari is playing Shraddha Arya’s brother in this flick. "My debut film was a slightly glamourous one, but this one has scope for performance too," said the actress. - (TNN)
I’m not in Padmasri Edukondalu: Tammanaah
A peeved Tamannaah told, “I am in no way involved in this film and I just can’t figure out why the makers have announced my name in it. I have just one film with Siddharth on hand in Telugu. Everyday I get an offer but my hands are full for the year”.
Meanwhile, her dad Santosh Bhatia who looks after her career says that he was flooded with calls from Andhra and he is upset with the media who report without clarifying things with him. Says the doting father: “It remains a mystery how a producer could go to the extent of announcing a project without the consent of his leading lady”-(sify)
‘I Don’t Mind Lip Locks’
Despite receiving more than 20 offers post Mohabattein, she couldn't make it big, though she had her share of BO-success with Awara Paagal Deewana, Anarth and LOC. Even her image makeover couldn't give a fillip to her career. Now, she makes a comeback to Tollywood with two author-backed roles to prove she isn't just a flash in the pan.
On lip locks & being single
After playing an orthodox girl in her debut film Mohabbatein, she boldly indulged in a lip lock with actor Abbas for a music album. "Could you imagine such scenes in Rajshri's banner before? I think this album reflected their adaptation to changing times," says the actress, who has a few steamy scenes to her credit. "Personally, I dislike it, but since it's part of my job, I don't mind," reasons the actress, who believes that only aesthetically shot scenes will find audience patronage. "If makers use it only to titillate the audience, it would rebound," she says. She is still single since her focus is on work. "I am just thinking of grabbing meaty roles, so my personal life can wait."
On her comeback bid
Despite hits Tammudu and Narasimhanaidu in Tollywood, she failed to cash in on it. "I did get lot of offers but I couldn't spare dates due to my Bollywood commitments," she says. Now, in her comeback film Nakshatra, she plays an archaeologist. "It's the first time that I am doing such a challenging role," says Preeti, who has also agreed to do another author-backed role with director Pratap. "Again, it's a well-designed role with good scope," informs the lady who is on the verge of signing a third female-centric film, hoping everything falls in place. "I did an item number in Yamadonga. I may consider doing another if the offer is exciting," she says.
On Bollywood
She had a promising start in Bollywood with a runaway hit Mohabbatein but couldn't really make it big. "I received 20 offers after Mohabattein, but probably didn't pick the right ones," reasons the actress, who puts it down to luck. "Even today, I don't have a PR manager," informs the actress. Nevertheless, she had her share of Bollywood roles with Awara Paagal Deewana, Anarth, Aan and LOC. "My varied roles include a princess, a widow, a dutiful wife and a negative role in Victoria No.203," says the actress, who feels satisfied with most of her roles. She is equally excited about her upcoming Hindi film Haseena and describes it as a ‘decent entertainer’.
